The making of a vocation?

Be patient... this loads slowly... like the vocation itself!

Ever thought of being a priest? These are the schools that I attended. At the undergraduate level, I needed a school that would gently bring me back into the academic world. This seminary college is for older gents. When I attended, one could attend without a sponsoring bishop up until  Their first year of theology. it gave a guy a chance to prove himself when others weren't so sure.  Perseverance was the key. don't give up!  Click below for information.

I also attended St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, California for my graduate work. When you're through reading about my vocation adventure, click on the picture or the name and take a tour.

Well folks, who knows how a life will be shaped or why we do the way we do?

It started out simple enough. There must have been a vocation. I was surrounded with holy things... especially my knees. My Mother loved having to replace the uniform pants at St. Mary's School.  Who knows, maybe I thought I'd be a cowboy.

But my Father said that cowboys don't wet their pants!

Later on, my parents let me buy microphones. Who knew what would follow?

But a strange thing happened... the electrifying experience of the 70's went to my head!

You've heard of the movie "The Wedding Singer?"

... and this is my brother's wife...

Good Friend Ron Smith

The pro shot!

Some said I should be on stage.

My Father told me when the first one out was.

As Niko in "Zorba"

Lt. Joseph Cable in "South Pacific"

And, what about Bobby in "Company?"

I definitely couldn't dance... but I faked it well.... So a little type casting took place...... How about the Teen Angel in "Grease?" (I'm on the far left with the black wig.)

And then... the final touchas a priest (of all things) in "Much Ado About Nothing"

So, there I was!... and a change was taking place... Who knew it would really happen?..
