What is your offering?How easy it is to come to the Celebration of the Eucharist without thinking much about what we are bringing with us. We often think tht we are coming to be fed. While an element of that is true, our first priority is to offer and worship. We are a "priestly people," which means that we offer our sacrifice. But we have to have the tools with which to worship. We are fed every day through what God has provided. This is our chance to give back. And, when we give back in a state of grace, our imperfect sacrifice becomes perfected in Christ and presented to the Father. And so, I wrote this prayer as a preparation for Mass.
At our daily Mass, the members of the assembly place a piece of bread into the ciborium to be presented at the approprtiate time. We will soon be praying this prayer just prior to the Gathering Song. I hope that you will find it useful.
